AGREEMENT ON THE PARTICIPATION OF THE FACULTY OF ARTS IN THE INTERNATIONAL ARTIS PROJECT UNDER THE HORIZON 2020 PROGRAM
The signing of legal documents for the ARTIS project (Art and Research on Transformations of Individuals and Societies), which received funding from the EU's main science program HORIZON 2020, has been completed. The ARTIS project (Art and Research on Transformations of Individuals and Societies), which received funding from the EU's main science program HORIZON 2020, officially starts on February 1, 2020. The ARTIS received funding from the EU's main science program HORIZON 2020. The project is led by the University of Vienna (Austria), and – in addition to the FDU – partners are: University of Amsterdam (Netherlands), Humboldt University of Berlin (Germany), Aarhus University (Denmark), Academy of Arts Berlin (Germany), UNESCO (France), Royal Holloway and Bedford College, University of London (UK), Interdisciplinary Forum on Neurourbanism (Germany) and University of Oxford (UK).
Representatives of the project leaders paid an official visit to the FDU on 24-25 February: Joerg Fingerhut from the University of Vienna and Matthew Pelowski from the Humboldt University in Berlin. The working meetings were attended by members of the (extended) team of the FDU: Dr. Milena Dragićević Šešić (team leader), Dr. Nina Mihaljinac, Dr. Ljiljana Rogač Mijatović, Dr. Irena Ristić, Dr. Vlatko Ilić, Dr. Ksenija Marković and doctoral students Milan Đorđević and Tatjana Nikolić. A plan for participation in the Project was drawn up, as well as a Strategy for Communication and Dissemination of Results, and additional participation of the Faculty team in other work packages was agreed.
The project theoretically and empirically explores the potential of art to create positive changes in societies and individuals, and also participates in the introduction of these changes through a series of artistic actions. ARTIS maps existing scientific achievements in the fields of psychology, neuroscience and phenomenology that relate to art research; secondly, contextualizes and critically analyzes the obtained empirical data; in order to - as a third goal - combine such a theoretical-empirical focus with a series of concrete artistic interventions, workshops and experiments. Fourthly, all the insights gained are used to conceptualize guidelines for the development of cultural policies, which will be promoted within the programs of key organizations in the arts and culture (UNESCO, IFNU). The FDU team will be particularly engaged in the organization of artistic actions and the conception of recommendations for practical cultural policy.
