FDA LAB joined the global initiative Climate Change Theatre Action

From 3 to 5 November, the Faculty of Dramatic Arts will be hosting Theatre of Wonder, a festival organised by the FDA’s Interactive Arts Laboratory and presented with the support of Creative Europe, the Serbian Ministry of Culture, and the Italian Cultural Institute in Belgrade.
The festival’s central jumping-off point represents an amalgam of art and science through a string of diverse, innovative theatre forms, where — with their combined action — creative and unconventional ways are employed to spotlight global hot issues like the climate crisis and environmental concerns.

On the last day of the festival, 5 November at 8 pm, the audience will see the stage performance  I won't do it again, mom!, which global initiative Climate Change Theater Action included in its programme. The stage performance, directed by Iva Olujić, will present seven pieces that adress the issue of climate change from different perspectives.

Climate Change Theatre Action is a project that supports and biennially platforms different performing practices of artists and organisations throughout the world centring on the climate crisis, with a view to pulling focus to these issues through art, as well as encouraging the wider community on the whole to reflect and above all act on them. Take a look at the announcement for I won't do it again, mom! here.

The performance will be immediately followed by a panel discussion titled Giving Ourselves a Chance: Young People and Climate Change, which tackles the issue of climate activism among the youth. The panelists will deliberate about encouraging young people to get educated and take part in the fight against pollution and climate change.

By setting the stage for conversations on the issue of climate change — which concerns all of us — Theatre of Miracles aspires to prompt dialogue around this subject, motivate young people to talk, and foreground the importance of individual roles in combating the climate crisis. The time to act is now!

All festival programmes are free, and to secure your spot for this limited attendance event, please register at: https://cutt.ly/8RrqaXg

The festival is organised within CURIOUS (Culture as a Unique Resource to Inspire, Outreach and Understand Science), a two-year international project implemented together with partners from Italy, Bulgaria, and Belgium.
